Eostre Moon Sleepout

We camped out on the trampoline last night and couldn't have asked for a better night. Perfectly cool, clear skies and a full moon.

We went for a nightstalk with our torches, watched the stars, found satellites, saw a helicopter pass overhead, watched and listened to the small flocks of cockatoos that flew over us on their way to their roosting tree and then bickered for an hour like kids at a sleepover, had a midnight feast and heard the story of Eostre and the Rabbit before snuggling down to sleep. After which I quietly took a few photos - this was one of them.
If there's a nicer way to spend a night I don't know it! :)

I remember those nights, we used to camp on our lawn, watch the stars....treasure every moment, because they grow up and start star gazing with buddies, or go to the boyfriends family house for the week-end....those special times pass toooooo quickly!

Indeed Molly! I think of this truth whenever we spend these beautiful moments and try to ignore the bittersweet feeling it brings. It's why we make sure we try to create LOTS of these special times - so much more the memories to remember later on.

What a beautiful stage of a parents life eh?!

What a great family adventure! The nights here are starting to get into single figures again, so a little cool for camping out, but we did spend Earth Hour watching stars and it was lovely. xx

I didn't think of that for Earth hour - maybe next year. You're right, that's a perfect opportunity, and would mean we'd do this more often.

Single figures at night already?! Sounds like winter is really cold your way?
